What is the problem?
57% of food emissions come from animal products
Food systems are responsible for around a third of all global greenhouse gas emissions, and animal products are the dominant driver. Meat and dairy alone generate more emissions than all the world's planes, ships, and cars combined. Every meal Howest serves is a choice between perpetuating this crisis or being part of the solution.
What can we do?

Every plate is a decision Howest makes and can change. Howest already commited to actively support the green transition and building a climlate-resilient future. Going 100% plant-based is one of the most visible, controllable ways to actually deliver on that promise.
Is that even possible?
University of Graz went fully plant-based. Edinburgh hit 70% — and Howest can be next!

Join the team organising in Bruges.
In November, Howest participates in Campus V Cup with other higher education institutions across Flanders. The objective: implementing and bringing awareness about plant-based food catering across the campus. We joined STUVO in a brainstorming session to discuss how we can achieve, together, our common goal.
Now we have our very own banner for the upcoming events.
We approached the very first students and staff members at Howest Bruges. 35 signatures reached.
