Food systems are responsible for around a third of all global greenhouse gas emissions, and animal products are the dominant driver. Meat and dairy alone generate more emissions than all the world's planes, ships, and cars combined. Every meal the University of Leeds serves is a choice between perpetuating this crisis or being part of the solution.
Every plate is a decision the University of Leeds makes and can change. The University of Leeds has already committed to working towards a science aligned net zero by 2045, made up of deep reductions across all emissions sources with limited balancing of residual emissions. Going 100% plant-based is one of the most visible, controllable ways to actually deliver on that promise.
University of Graz went fully plant-based. Edinburgh hit 70% — and the University of Leeds can be next!

We had an incredible turn out! Lots of leaflets, stickers, posters and treats! We had plenty of good chats and signatures, and we now SURPASSED 250 SIGNATURES WITHIN A WEEK!!!
Following our very first meet-up, and after a couple of strategy meetings, we now have a core team with designated roles and responsibilities!
But don't worry! There's always room for more members!
The campaign at the University of Leeds is officially live. We had our first meet-up at Hyde Park Book Club where we discussed where the campaign is currently at, and where we go from here!
